Classes
We are ecstatic to offer live and in person classes! Presented by The Monae Life Academy, Monaè Everett will host brand-sponsored live model class demonstrations to help increase entrants’ proficiency and confidence in styling all four hair textures: straight, wavy, curly and coily. This live look-and-learn class is perfect for hairstylists at every level of their career.
Each class will feature the tools, techniques and tips for styling a specific texture to help give stylists the confidence to submit their entries into Texture Style Awards across all hair categories. Students will also receive tips on how to style hair for photos (versus in-person and salon) and how to capture the best images.
In each texture specific class, Everett and her co-facilitator will:
- Demonstrate hair styling tips for curly hair specifically creating a uniform curl pattern, building volume, and creating up styles.
- Show go-to products and tools used for slaying each look.
- Display the best ways to capture your own images to submit to the Texture Style Awards.

Texture Style Awards is a semi-professional beauty competition created to celebrate the diversity and beauty of all four textures of hair and honor the artists who have mastered the techniques of styling those textures. We encourage entrants to capture their own images.
